Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created the Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is books that will make you swoon and probably a welcome relief after all the emotional books mentioned last week! As usual, my list isn’t really in any particular order. I mention some books from series so beware there may be spoilers about relationships.
The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead
Can we just all agree Adrian is clearly the best romantic interest Richelle Mead has written? And yes, I mean more swoony than Dimitri. He’s far more complex, interesting and just swoony and The Fiery Heart shows this.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I’m one of a minority who prefer Fangirl to Eleanor & Park. Cath’s journey in Fangirl is great and honest, as is her developing relationship with Levi.
Elementals series by Brigid Kemmerer
I can’t single out just one book in this series, but it definitely contains some swoon worthy romances.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
This is just such a great series and the relationship between Akiva and Karou has all the swoony potential with forbidden love and great chemistry.
The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight by Jennifer E Smith
This book is just great. It’s incredibly sweet in places, though does have some serious moments. I just loved the way Oliver and Hadley clicked and how sincere their relationship felt after only 24 hours.
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I really liked this book and the relationship between Etienne and Anna is just great.
The Distance Between Us by Kasie West
Kasie West is rapidly becoming one of my must-read authors and she creates brilliant characters and YA relationships. Also definitely check out Pivot Point a sort of Sliding Doors YA with supernatural powers.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
This was the book that got me to start reading fantasy again! It’s got everything, but there are some great scenes with chemistry here.
Easy by Tammara Webber
This is the first New Adult book I really liked and while it tackles serious issues (thankfully with respect and tact) the relationship between Jacqueline and Lucas is fantastic.
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
This is possibly my favourite book of Dessen’s and I loved Auden’s journey in it as well as her relationship with Eli. It’s a great read!
